The Institute for Chemistry Education at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the University of Cologne invites applications for a W2 professorship in Chemistry Education. YOUR TASKS: The successful candidate will be expected to represent the field of Chemistry Education appropriately in research and teaching. The research focus should be on a current area within Chemistry Education, preferably in the field of teaching and learning research, and should expand existing content-related and methodological research priorities at the Institute for Chemistry Education. Teaching will be conducted in German and will encompass both the subject-specific and subject-didactic training of student teachers in Chemistry for teaching positions at primary schools, secondary schools, and comprehensive schools, as well as for special education. Furthermore, teaching will include the subject-didactic training of student teachers in Chemistry for teaching positions at grammar schools/comprehensive schools and vocational colleges. In addition to high-quality teaching, the professor's responsibilities will include supervising theses and dissertations. The successful candidate will be expected to actively collaborate with colleagues from the Department of Mathematics and Science Education and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as to participate in self-governance at all levels of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. YOUR PROFILE: We are seeking an outstanding individual with a proven track record of publications in relevant subject-specific and school-related journals in a current research area within chemistry education. The candidate will be expected to acquire externally funded projects, supervise doctoral dissertations and other early-career researcher development initiatives, and engage in cooperative and interdisciplinary collaboration within the Institute of Chemistry Education and the Department of Mathematics and Science Education. The successful candidate will be expected to have teaching experience at both the school and university levels and to be actively involved in subject-specific and subject-didactic teaching within the primary and special education teacher training programs, as well as in supervising theses. W1 Junior Professorship for chemical engineering Engineering of Light-Driven Reactions (m/f/d) at the Institute of Chemical Engineering, University of Ulm. This professorship will establish the process engineering research topics of the Collaborative Research Center/Transregio 234 "CataLight" at the Ulm location on a long-term basis. The appointment will be as a tenured civil servant or as an employee, generally for a fixed term of six years. Your responsibilities: You will establish your own working group , contribute to the process engineering work within CataLight, independently acquire external funding, and participate in the self-governance of the institute. Your research profile: An internationally recognized profile in one or more of the following fields is expected: macroscopic kinetics of light-driven catalysis as well as mass, heat, and photon transport, including numerical flow simulation and model-based methods; development and design of reactors, especially for operation under natural solar radiation; Scalable photo- and photoelectrochemical reactors, as well as reactors with integrated separation of oxidation and reduction products; particle technology and mechanical process engineering of particulate photocatalyst systems; machine learning and data-driven reactor and process optimization with FAIR-oriented research data management. The W2 professorship "Organic Chemistry and Catalysis" in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Münster University of Applied Sciences is available. You will represent the field of Organic Chemistry and Catalysis in teaching and research within the Department of Chemical Engineering. Your work will focus on dedicated, practice-oriented teaching. You will convey both fundamental and application-oriented content – ​​particularly regarding the role of organic chemical processes in the context of CO₂-neutral transformation. Fostering the personal and academic development of students is a key priority. A research-intensive team and excellent laboratory facilities provide an inspiring environment for developing research priorities. You will actively participate in the self-governance of Münster University of Applied Sciences. You hold a degree in Chemical Engineering or a comparable field. Furthermore, you have successfully completed a qualified doctorate in the field of organic synthetic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, catalysis, or a related area.
