The Association for Chemistry and Economics (VCW) was founded in 1999 as a Division of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and currently has over 1,000 members. It forms an interface between natural sciences, particularly chemistry, and economics, primarily through the development of an international network in the chemical industry. The VCW brings together individuals from chemistry, other natural sciences, engineering, and other sectors connected to chemistry or the chemical industry. All those from these fields are warmly invited to contribute to achieving the VCW's goals.

Tasks and goals of the VCW

 

• To create a forum where discussions about the chemical industry can be conducted openly and proactively.
• The pooling of chemical industry expertise
• To create a network for people who work professionally at the interface between chemistry and business.
• The study of the economic conditions of the chemical industry
• Within the GDCh, to promote support for a creative engagement with the development of the chemical industry in Germany, Europe and worldwide.
• To make independent contributions to the discourse on industrial and technological development
